| Self-esteem is a positive evaluation of self-worth obtained by individuals in the comparison of social life.As the main component of personality traits,self-esteem is of great significance to the physical and mental development and socialization of individuals.Parental rearing style is the parenting attitude and emotion of parents to their children,which reflects the nature of parent-child interaction,is a summary of the characteristics of various upbringing behaviors,and is a relatively stable behavior style.The aim of this study was to investigate the status of self-esteem and parental rearing style of high school students and their relationship.The self-esteem scale(SES)and the simplified parenting style questionnaire(s-EMBU)were used to randomly select 555 high school students from a whole group in a certain city:1.high school students' self-esteem level is generally in the upper middle level,in gender,grade,whether the only child,the place of origin,family economic status,parents' education level,father's occupation showed significant differences;2.high school students' parenting style is mainly emotional warmth,followed by excessive protection,the least is rejection,in the gender,grade,whether the only child,the place of origin,whether the parents divorced,family economic situation,parents' education,parents' occupation is significantly different;3.high school students' self-esteem level is highly correlated with parental rearing style.The self-esteem level of high school students is highly negatively correlated with parents' rejection and over-protection,while the self-esteem level of high school students is highly positively correlated with parents' emotional warmth.According to the conclusion of the above research,it is suggested that parents should adopt emotional warm rearing style in order to improve the self-esteem level of high school students,and avoid adopting rejection and over-protection rearing style. |
