Nowadays, the aesthetic orientation and lifestyle of consumers are becoming more and more personalized and diversified. People have begun to pay attention to the interaction between people and objects and the mutual communication among people. Cognitive psychology provides a rich theoretical basis for designers to study the problem of consumers; therefore, it is of great feasibility and prominent practical significance in examining and analysing the packagings’interaction design with the connotation and research methods of cognitive psychology.With the cognitive psychology as a theory reference, this study mainly adopts the interdisciplinary organon, literature analysis and empirical approach to construct the theory of the principles, performance and strategies of the packaging ineraction design, thus, obtaining a set of relatively completethe packaging interaction design theory to guide; direct the designing practice. The whole paper is divided into five sections, going along in accordance with the theoretical interpretation and analysis-content construction-strategy reviews-logic of value evaluation.Firstly, summarizes the research contents and the applicable models of cognitive psychology and interaction design based on the analysis of the current research situation at home and abroad. It haven’t to form an integrated system in the field of this research. Secondly, interpretes the correlative theory of this study, generalizes the application of cognitive psychology in interaction design, such as perception, attention, thinking and so on, together with the explanation of the correlation of the theory and application. Thirdly, dissects the factors which affect the packaging interaction design, the key designing elements, the principle on the basis of cognitive psychology, it analyses the case correlation between cognitive psychology and interaction design. Sums up the multi-expression modes of packaging interaction design,such as the visual design and feeling design, with the combination of the theory of sense perception and cognitive characteristics.On the basis of the analysis of the key points and principles of cognitive design, interaction design, packaging interaction design, it puts forward the packging interaction design stretergies consisting of sensory stimulation and scenario design. Finally, based on the above theory, comments on the application of cognitive psychology, in the packaging interaction design including identification, promotion, practical use, and cultural values, emphasizing its application value.
