A Report On The Translation Project Of Beijing Huaxia Daily Education Technology Co., Ltd

This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of English Reading Comprehension of entrance examination of Beijing Huaxia Daily Education Technology Company. The project contains11,518Chinese characters, the author translated it within7days. By reviewing and analyzing the translation processes as well as representative cases, the report explores how to deal with special texts and difficult sentences. In the report, the special texts are divided into four main parts, including text of manuals, tourism, news and advertisements. Based on the Skopos Theory, by a detailed analysis of the specific examples, the author knows how to deal with special texts and important points including context consistency and translation quality. The report reveals that the project involves a wide range of subjects and themes with the relatively simple vocabulary and grammar, referring to politics, philosophy, history, economy and so on. So the author has to take a comprehensive view of the targets of translation, the representation of the original, the requirement of the client. In the process of translation, the author contacted the client, always keeping the translation standards in mind, and gave a good version after proof-reading. The translation report is divided into four parts. Chapter I is a brief introduction to the project presenting general situation. Chapter II refers to translation basis including both practical and theoretical basis. Chapter III contains the process of translation describing the preparatory work and specific case analysis involving analysis of special texts and difficult points. Chapter IV is the summary of the project including how to deal with special texts, keep the translation smooth and coherent, and guarantee the translation quality.
