A Report On The Translation Project Of Banking And Financial Institutions (Chapter8～13)

With the fast development of global economy, financial institutions are becoming more andmore important in the economic structure. In order to know the current situation of westernbanking, the last six chapters of Banking and Financial Institutions are chosen to be thetranslation material, which is a masterpiece of the famous Professor Benton E. Gup, and themachine translation method is adopted. Eventually, a study report would be written. Based onthe theories proposed by Newmark, including communication translation and semantictranslation, this report illustrates the problems existed in the process of financial Englishtranslation by analyzing the long sentences, complex structures of financial English. In theend, the skills and approaches of how to translate financial English materials can besummarized, that is, looking through some books to check the word meaning, and choosingthe best translation method after analysis.
