On The Image Of Traitor In China Modern And Contemporary Literature

Abstract:Literary images have always been the focus of the literature research. In recent years, writers and critics in China have studied numerous classic literary images, including image of intellectual, image of woman, image of hero, image of peasant and image of revolutionist. However, there is an important literature image which often appears in many literary works, but the research on them is still not sufficient, even rarely involved. This image is the traitor to China.The traitor images that have appeared in various modern and contemporary literary works can be classified into three categories, namely the stereotype of traitor, the complex image of traitor and the neutral image of traitor, by which we could reveal their specific characteristics. The writing background, the laws of literature and the authenticity of life provide clues to find out the reasons of portraying these different traitor images.Analyzing the development of traitor images in many literary works, including the film literature and television literature, can help us to reveal the specific reasons for its development in the new period.Researching the traitor images by classification and pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the portraying methods, we can not only fill the blank in the study of literary image, but also get a clearer understanding of the link between literature and society, what’s more, bring to light the true face of traitors in the history of our country.
