Chinese traditional villages are widespread, numberous and distinguished. Chinese ancient villages have been experienced great changes during the60years sine e nation established.Especially after1990, these villages have been wrecked and destr oyed by the tide of urbanization and industrialization. As the development of economy and the increase of population, traditional villages demand for exploitation and protection to maintain economic growth, whilst, the scale of them need to be expended to meet the requirements of population growth.During the process of the villages evoluting from the traditional to the modem, which the Architects and Planners keep deliberating is how to protect the styles and features of traditional settlements when planning projects. In this paper, Wushi village settled in Pan’an Country, Zhejiang Province was chosen as the object of study. The author use the research methods of Architecture Sociology and Typology. Based on the information which was provided on the Surveying and Mapping of parts of buildings and the social research, the author divides the information into four periods of the traditional economy, planned economy, the beginning of reform and open policy and market economy. Then the author analyses internal impetus that promote the evolution of the village in four parts which are natural environment, social and cultural, economic teclinology and policy. I wish that my research production would be helpful for the research and practices in the historical evolution of the traditional settlements of China.
