Culture industry has grown robustly worldwide and been a new momentum foreconomic growth in the economically-globalized21th century. Lifting its competenceis the core issue in its development. To improve its international competitiveness, weshould figure out the influencing factors to its international competence. Based onPort’s Diamond Model, this paper analyzed factors influencing China’s internationalcompetence from6aspects, namely demanding, supplying, supporting industries, enterprise strategies, competitive structure, and government policies.According to the above theoretical analysis, we have chosen15specific indexesfrom the6main factors, to show the international competitiveness of China’s culturalindustry through Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA). By Principal ComponentAnalysis (PCA) and Regression Analysis, we have carried out quantitative analysis onthe factors influencing the international competitiveness of China’s cultural industryand the mechanism how they influence the international competitiveness of China’scultural industry.Empirical results show that Urban Engel Coefficient, Rural Engel Coefficient, and the proportion of FDI Net Inflow in GDP have negative influence and the index isalso negative. The decline of every1percent will bring0.21percent,0.283percent,0.03percent respectively decline to the international competitiveness of China’scultural industry. Rural Engel Coefficient is influenced most enormously. The other12indexes have positive influence to the international competitiveness of China’scultural industry. Urbanized degree, the proportion of Third Industry in GDP, andCollege Enrollment Rate have the largest influence to the internationalcompetitiveness of China’s cultural industry, with every1percent increase which willbring over0.3percent increase to the international competitiveness of China’s culturalindustry. As a conclusion, we have proposed relative solutions on the basis of empiricalanalysis, to improve the international competitiveness of China’s cultural industry.
