This interpretation project report is based on the author’s listening and interpreting practiceon the speech made by Wang Jianlin in Harvard University. As the speaker speaks in Chinese, soin this project, the interpreter’s job is to interpret Chinese into English. Moreover, in order not tointerrupt the speaker’s speech as well as not to occupy so much time, the interpreter must begin tointerpret as soon as the speaker gets started, namely simultaneous interpreting.In this report, the author aims to put the strategies and methods that have learned from thebooks or teachers into real practice. More importantly, to explore the interpreting skills andstrategies that most suitable for the author herself.This interpretation project report can be divided into four parts. Part one is a briefintroduction of the project which mainly presents some information on field interpreting as well assome background knowledge of Wanda Group and Chairman Wang Jianlin. And also points outthe main idea and style of the speech. In the second part, the author gives a further detaileddescription of the entire project process. The main body of this report lies in the third part, theauthor mainly discusses some typical problems that she has encountered during the entire projectprocess and put forward corresponding coping strategies. In the last part, the author makes a briefconclusion of the lessons and experiences that have drawn from the project, as well as indicatessome improvements can be made in the future.
