In recent years, Chinese is more and more popular in Thailand, more and moreThai people join in Chinese learning. From2003, more than8000Chinese volunteerteachers go to Thailand. From basic education commission, vocational educationcommission,non-government funded education commission to tertiary educationcommission, every education commission offers Chinese courses. In2013, Office ofNon-Formal Education Commission(ONFEC) takes in the first patch of Chinesevolunteer teachers formally.The ONFEC in Thailand is a little special, it belongs to non-formal education.Therefore, the situation of Chinese teaching in it is way different from other educationcommissions. Otherwise, unlike the long history of Chinese teaching in other schools,Chinese teaching in ONFEC is still very young and also have many problems.Through questionnaire survey, visiting other schools and observing Chinese lessons, itis found out that no matter schools or students, ONFEC has its own features, such as,short of teaching resources, informality of teaching patterns, lack of teaching outline,carelessness of students and so on.According to the above problems, the Chinese teaching development shouldtake step by step. Changes of policies, no matter the domestic support of China orMinistry of Education in Thailand should invest much for ONFEC. Create Chineseteaching plan and Chinese teaching targets and support the teaching resources andteaching materials. Chinese teaching in ONFEC should stress cultivating interest andmaking different teaching targets for different students. Plus, separate adults andteenagers. The ONFEC schools should pay high attention to Chinese learning, andadjust the timetable of students, try to keep the attendances of students. Chinesevolunteer teachers should improve Thai language, use various teachingmethods,especially use Thematic Approach. In addition, introduce some Chineseculture.Chinese is a new subject in ONFEC, it is normal that appears some problems.Expecting the problems according to the questionnaire surveys will present a real factof Chinese teaching in ONFEC of Thailand and make a little contribution toimproving the Chinese teaching and learning situation in ONFEC.
