It has extremely vital significance to help us grasp the Bronze Age style, process characteristics and aesthetic interest. On the basis of abundant materials. This paper try to makes a preliminary exploration and comprehensive study on bronze decoration of the Huaihe river in the spring and autumn period. This paper is divided into five parts: First, foreword.The first part of the foreword introduces the general situation of the geography and history of the Huaihe, showing the geographical range and time range of this study. The second part of the foreword summarizes the research status on the bronze ornamentation, briefly reviewing the development history of ancient bronze ornamentation at the first beginning, and then introducing some articles and books in the study of ancient bronze ornamentation roughly, finally introducing the study status of Huaihe basin in period of the spring and autumn.Second, the classification of the decorations.This part uses the method of the typology to study the ornamentation typological, dividing the decorations into the decorative animals and geometric lines, and then making a further division. Especially for some special decorations which can represent the age characteristics or some decorations which is rich in number, parting as detailed and comprehensive as possible.Third, classification of the periods. Huaihe river basin can be divided into the upstream areas, middle and lower reaches areas, the Yihe and Shuhe basin.Each region in accordance with the era can be divided into three phases. Summarizing and analyzing the characteristics of each phase contribute us to compare the trait of each phase.Fourth, the combination of ornamentation.First, the Spring and Autumn period is divided into four phases, then studying each of ornamentation combinations within the geographical unit, both focusing on comparative analysis of the different regions of the same period ornamentation, also attaching importance to the study of ornamentation in combination in the same area at different times.Fifth, ornamentation and historical cultural change.Evolution and ornamentation of historical development are inseparable.
