Next it briefly elaborates the characteristics of long sentences in Computer English, and their guiding translation principle—Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory. Then combined with concrete instances, it expounds syntactic linearity and order-change translation method. Finally, it summarizes the whole thesis, and emphasizes the guidance of the core idea of Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory—"abandonment of form, reproduction of meaning "—on translation practice. The author hopes that the analyses can guide the practice in the future.
