This is a translation project report on The Demography of Adaptation toClimate Change by Martine, George and Daniel Schensul, which is published byUNFPA in2013without Chinese version. The original text focus on researchingpopulation dynamics and demographic data, in order to make people aware of howand to what extent demographic factors affect climate change and how to mitigateclimate change from a population perspective. The main content of this report isdivided into four parts: Part One is the translation project description, includingproject background, objectives and significance. Part Two is the background of thesource text, including introduction of the main content of the source text, linguisticfeatures of the source text, and evaluation and review of the source text. Part Three isabout translation difficulties and methods, including preparations before translationand examples of using translation methods in the process of translation. Part Fourconcludes with the lessons, implication and unsolved problems in the translationproject.Guided by Skopos Theory, the reporter argued and emphasized the importance of“Skopos Theory” in translating the text of this kind.
