A Practice Report On Interpreting In Hebei Hydraulic Resources Institute In2013

With the improvement of the level of China’s economy, foreign affairs havebecome increasingly frequent, interpreters as intercultural communication bridge areplaying an increasingly important role. Interpreters who work for foreign affairs,especially play an increasingly important role in introduing advanced foreignintelligence. Interpretation work includes routine work, escort interpretation,consecutive interpretation and simultaneous interpretation. Interpreters will chooseone or more methods according to the work. This internship report is based on theinterpreting and learning experience of the author who served as the interpreter toaccompany Professor Wim Voogt from Wageningen University visiting Hebeiprovince to discuss cooperation projects. The report is consisted of five parts:summary of the interpretation work, preparation before interpreting, implementationprocess, evaluation of performance, project summary and case analysis, hoping tohave a positive impact on increasing the level and quality of interpreting.
