Since the implementation of market economic reform in China, significant changes have taken place in all aspects of the Chinese economy. The field of government procurement also changed dramatically, China has established the legal management framework of government procurement. However, it is not perfect. The translation source text discussed the problem around this issue.The source text belongs to elaboration legal documents. The translation problems mainly concentrate on the aspect of adverbial clause. The translator gave examples to analyze three translation problems, namely the translation of simple adverbial clause, the translation of adverbial clause led by special guide words, and the translation of adverbial clause in the complex long sentences. The methods of analysis are lexical analysis, contextual analysis, and syntactic analysis. Then the translator used three effective translation methods, namely translation in original order, reverse translation, and division-combination in translation.This paper aims to review the whole process of translation, summarize the gains and defects, and to explore the translation strategies of elaboration legal text. The translator hopes to offer some valuable references for the same kind of translation practice.
