"Hang" quantifier "hang","lie" and "pai" are often used among Chinese quantifiers with crossing uses and differences. Based on the two big aspects of the corpus from Center for Chinese Linguistics PKU, Scripta Sinica Academia Sinica collected relevant semantic facts corpus, with the theory of cognitive linguistics, metaphor, metonymy, category, image representation and methods including the statistical method, comparative analytic method, graphic method, etc. From three semantic source, this paper analyzes the semantic evolution of the three, so as to better analyze the synchronic level and research. In the synchronic level, it seeks to get from the semantic development of flow chart, combined with modern Chinese corpus for our present context, context of historical analysis to the three semantic features, further combining semantic feature analysis of collocation is the choice of object, and getting three noun or adjective collocation, so as to show the semantic difference to guide the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.The first part is to, from the complicated Chinese classics, find relevant corpora. With combining the theory of cognitive linguistics, there has been three semantic development process: a noun, a "road"→a noun,"soldiers in a line"→a measure word connected with numeral, the modification of soldiers→a measure word, with more modified human-meaning objects→a measure word with expended modified objects; as for "lie", it developed from the original meaning is "decomposition, divided" and extended to "arrangement" and then extended as into "orderly", through the numerals and application development of quantifiers, and gradually it expands into a the modified object. And "pai" is originated from "arrange, push" to "arrangement, editing order",and to a measure word, connected to a numeral and then own more modified objects.The second part will first briefly introduce "hang" as measure words of the same semantic features of [+formability],[+shaping],[+strips]. Based on the research results and the modern Chinese corpus provides context of the sentence, we discussed the cause of the quantifier polymerization object arrangement, direction, length, state, etc, and done a statistical analysis on their situation research. So we obtained the "hang" shape important semantic characteristics, the difference between a quantifier respectively:"hang" with [+strips],[+transverse];"lie" with [+strips],[+longitudinal],[+long bar],[+integrity];"pai" with [+strips],[+action-making initiative],[+seriousness]. Those comprehensive semantic differences would be helpful to modern Chinese teaching as well as the teaching of Chinese as a second language. Linking the origin of these three words to analyze the semantic property can also inspire other researchers.On the basis of semantic characteristics and with combining the theory of cognitive linguistics, the third part gives the analysis to show that the three semantic characteristics of the collocation of noun and adjective modifier choice, including choice of nominal composition analysis, mainly from the three common, two common, alone with the three aspects to get the collocation of nouns and the quantifier, including the collocation of noun and measure word, as well as the laws hidden behind. The analysis of choice of adjective collocation composition analysis is mainly from "hang" and and other measure words such as "big and small, entire, long, short, horizontal, vertical, straight, oblique, longitudinal". The paper summarized the ten adjectives collocation as "hang" and "big, short, straight, oblique","lie" and "big","short, horizontal, straight, oblique","pai" and "short, straight" are not seen in collocation. With analyzing the collocation of Zong Shouyun, the paper summarized form adjustment.This paper analyses the origin of the three and finds out the semantic features of the three, makes a research on the analysis of the noun and adjective modifier choice of collocation, using the theory of cognitive linguistics to explore the matching laws of the three modifiers from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.
