The Spiritual World Of Chen Hang’s Paintings

As one of the most effective landscape painters in the late 20 th century and early 21 st century,Chen Hang is well-known for his strong northwest characteristics and unique jiao-mo method.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to analyze and discuss the painting theory and practice in the northwest landscape of Chen Hang,and to explore the innovative points of his brush and ink method.Due to the lack of research materials on Chen Hang,the writing materials of this article mainly come from the combination of objective interview,existing materials and personal analysis of the author.In order to better explore and understand the spiritual world of Chen Hang’s paintings,the paper focuses on the analysis of the characteristics of the brushwork in Chen Hang’s paintings: the beauty of heavy lines and the freshness of jiao-mo.In the painting language,the combination of its screen style,artistic evolution,ink features,aesthetic appeal,spiritual direction and so on for analysis.In terms of spiritual concept,combining with his calligraphy and painting concept,artistic spirit,value orientation and artistic experience,the last part summarizes and analyzes the spiritual world of Chen Hang’s painting —— the western spirit.In the specific point of view,the author will try to find the cause and effect of the formation of the current artistic style from his artistic experience,from the artistic concept of Chen Hang painting theory and how to practice;From the direction of drawing materials to understand Chen hang painting and its abstract spiritual world linkage,from the pen and ink innovation to clarify Chen hang in the northwest landscape exploration of the change in the representational program;From the painting performance,we can understand how to adapt the tradition to the times,and comb the breakthrough of the northwest landscape and the promotion of the northwest landscape from its existing achievements.Through the writing of this paper,in the individual,to deepen their knowledge of landscape and creative thinking,and with the professional combination,creative learning will be integrated and use it for their own.For the public,I hope to provide some reference for the case study of the contemporary northwest landscape or Jiaomo landscape.
