The New HSK which lanched by Chinese Hanban is a large-scale standardized test totest their Chinese language level for the students whose mother language is not Chinese in2009. It has become the benchmark among Chinese language exams, and it plays animportant role on teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The culture teaching is always asignificant branch of the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. So the variouscultural factors will be reflected on the examination questions.It takes the research methods of literature study, quantitative analysis, qualitativeanalysis and other ways to analyze the cultural questions in new HSK from the point ofquestion content, as well as the perspective of combination of culture and test questions.This thesis expounds the type, presentation, content classification, accounting of culturalexamination questions. Then it analyzes the characteristics of new HSK’s examinationquestions and room for improvement. Finally, on the basis of the existing foreign languageteaching and cultural studies, it stresses the importance of cultural discourse and availablesuggestions in order to teach and spread Chinese culture reasonably, to expand theexchanges and cooperation between China and the world, to promote Chinese language tothe world better and to enhance the influence of Chinese culture.
