A Restudy On The Houtaiping Cemetery

Houtaiping（后太平） Type is a kind of archaeological culture as a representativeof Houtaiping Cemetery of the East Liao River Region.Houtaiping Cemetery won theend of the clay pot,stean,bowl,cup,beans and pot-tripod are full of Local Highlights asthe basic combination of pottery, which is represented by the plain contracted neck ofclay pot,and like decorating eras.Its subject age spans roughly the late Shang Dynastyto the late West Zhou Dynasty,and at latest to the middle of the Spring and AutumnPeriod.In this paper, using the method of combing the Stratigraphy and typology, wegroup the typical pottery and divide the stage of the Houtaiping Cemetery, and analysisof Houtaiping site correspond with Houtaiping Cemetery.This paper dividedHoutaiping Cemetery into four period,the ages of one to four period, respectively theequivalent of the Central Plains region during the late Shang Dynasty,early,middle, andlate period of West Zhou Dynasty.On the basis of the installments, this paper discussed the distribution ofHoutaiping Cemetery. we deduced that the distribution of Houtaiping Cemetery isfrom the southwest to the east and the north gradually.The Cemetery generallyparallels the lower reaches of the East Liao River basin(north-east to thesouth-west),and expanded from southwest to northeast.Investigating Houtaiping Cemetery of the origin and flow direction from theperspective of Pottery grouping. We considered that the Houtaiping Cemetery not onlyinherite Machengzi （马城子） cultural traditions, but also absorb some of theGaotaishan （高台山）cultural factors.This expains that the sources and the formationprocess of Houtaiping Cemetery is relatively complex.In view of distribution area,thetype of Houtaiping roughly has the same distribution area with Baoshan（宝山）Culture afterward,but they have a great aging gaps between them,and subject to the limitations of existing materials, the final flow of Houtaiping Cemetery are unclear.Through the analysis of cultural factors, it shows that the Houtaiping Cemeteryhave a close contact and communication with Baijingbao（白金宝） culture onSongnen Plain region,Xituanshan（西团山）culture on the Second Songhuajiang Riverregion, Xinchengzi（新城子） culture in Liaodong region and Upper Xiajiadian （夏家店上层）Culture in Liaoxi region. In addition, Houtaiping Cemetery have an impacton the same period archaeological culture of surrounding area.Above all,this paper makes a brief comparison and generalization between myconclusion and previous views on the type of Houtaiping.
