Study On The Chariot And Harnesses Of Easter Zhou Period In The SanJinLiangZhou Area

The object of this paper is to study the chariot and harnesses of Easter ZhouPeriod in the SanJinLiangZhou Area.With reference to the relevant research methodsand achievements,firstly the study has a comprehensive review of the main types ofcarriages and horses during the Easter Zhou Period in the SanJinLiangZhou Area,thento make the typological analysis for a variety of carriages and horses incommon;based on the type division, combining the unearthed unit of time, divided thedevelopment of the carriages and horses into three different time periods,tounderstand carriages and horses in the shape and decorative techniques having thedifferent characteristics in the different time period and the different combinations ofdifferent kinds of carriages and horses;using statistical method,first of all to doquantitative research on the chariot and harnesses,discussing the relationship betweenquantity and combination of the chariot and harnesses,to explore the social problemswhich exist;then looking the carriages and horses as the connection point, analyses thestatistics on the tombs which excavated with the weapons and the bronze and potterysacrificial vessels,get the classification of the bronze and pottery sacrificial vesselstomb,to inform the chariot and harnesses’s social class,finally on the basis of theclassification of the tombs,making detailed statistical analysis on the change and thereason of the chariot and harnesses in he different time period of each grade in thetombs; according to the distribution and change of the chariot and harnesses in thedifferent time period,the social reason and the geographical environment factors arediscussed.The thesis consists of six parts.Chapter one:PrefaceThis chapter includes definitions of the research object and the temporal-spatial framework,summarizes the research results of the past and the status quo,explains thepurpose, methods and materials of this research.Chapter tow:Typological analysis of the chariot and harnessesReferring to the research methods and results of the past,this chapter has acomprehensive review of the main types of chariot and harnesses during the EasterZhou Period in the SanJinLiangZhou Area,then to make the typological analysis for avariety of chariot and harnesses in common,summarizes the type evolution for avariety of the chariot and harnesses.Chapter three:Dividing the development stage for the chariot and harnessesBased on the type of division and with reference to the age of the grave whichwere founded with the chariot and harnesses,this chapter will divide the developmentof the carriages and horses into three different time periods,then summarize thecharacteristics of the form style,unearthed unit,type of combination and decoration etcfor the chariot and harnesses.Chapter four:Quantitative study of the chariot and harnesses.On the basis of the different time periods,using quantitative methods,the stage ofthe tombs are firstly statistics and observation, and then on the chariot and harnessesand Weapon tombs and the bronze and pottery sacrificial vessels tombs,finally makemore comprehensive analysis of changes and reasons of the chariot and harnesses.Chapter five:Analysis of the social factors and geographical environment factorsfor the temporal and spatial distribution of the chariot and harnessesBased on the stage division and quantitative research,this chapter will sum up thecharacteristics of spatial distribution of the chariot and harnesses in each stage, anddiscuss the chariot and harnesses in temporal and spatial distribution of social factorsand geographical environment factors (topography and transportation).Chapter six:ConclusionA simple summary of the research process and the conclusion.
