With the continuous improvement of China’s comprehensive strength, the Chinese andforeign cultural exchanges more closely. More and more foreign students are coming to China tostudy Chinese and Chinese culture. In Chinese culture teaching for the foreign students in China,the formal and systematic of "Chinese Culture" course basically has not opened at theuniversities and colleges in China. However, cultural factors teaching of Chinese languageteaching, which is existing now, has becoming increasingly unable to satisfy the studentsrequirement on the systematically learning Chinese culture. Therefore, the formal and systematic"Chinese Culture" course for the foreign students in China is needed for the whole career ofteaching Chinese as a second language, and is conforming the needs of foreign students in Chinaand following the trend of the times. In this context, this paper attempts to provide an operableChinese culture instructional design for the foreign students in China.The writing of this paper is based on the investigation of the situations about the studentsand teaching conditions in the Class C of international Chinese Academy In Henan University.For this paper, the author has used a variety of methods, such as literature research, observation,surveys, interviews and discussion, and concretely analyzed the physical and psychologicalcharacteristics and learning needs of the students in the Class C of, the teaching situation andteaching environment of Chinese culture of the international Chinese Academy In HenanUniversity and so on. In This paper, there are cognitive, skills and emotional aspects of teachinggoal. On the basis of the cultural, targeted, practical, complementary and interactive principles,the paper contains a total of17academic hours instructional design of "Chinese culture" coursefor a semester. This instructional design is including "Chinese ancient city and residential style","Generation, Physical evolution, structural spirit of Chinese character and experience ofcalligraphy","Chinese painting theory and Chinese painting experience","Acupuncture points,meridians theory and experience","Chinese traditional martial arts and fitness movement","Chinese traditional festival" and "Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism", a total of seven teaching contents. The order of the teaching contents is based on their characteristics and therelationship between each other. In the teaching process, adopting the teaching methods, what istaking turns of knowledge teaching and skills activities, and trying to use some teachingstrategies to organize teaching, such as emotion, motivation, guidance, connecting,communication and resources strategies. Finally, this paper also provides two copies of thecomplete lesson plans and the feedback about the effects of the teaching experiment.The author hopes that the Chinese culture teaching according to this instructional design canincrease the foreign students’ knowledge about Chinese culture and improve their comprehensiveability to use Chinese culture, eliminate their fear of learning Chinese culture because of thedifficulty for them and keep their love to China. Ultimately it can promote the overall career’sdevelopment of teaching Chinese as a second language, promote exchanges between Chineseand foreign culture and go forward together.
