Can be verb, also called auxiliary verbs, is a very important category in the modern Chinese system. There are many meanings in "neng" in auxiliary verbs, and it has flexible usage. So it is more difficult to master for international students."neng" in auxiliary verbs has five usages in total. It can be used to express the ability to do something, the purpose or usage of things, someone’s will, permission, and the possibility. In terms of grammar, there are also some special usages with "neng"."neng" is used in our daily life usually. The frequency is very high. For the Chinese,"neng" is commonly used but it’s hard to say exactly how to use it. For foreign students who are learning Chinese,"neng" becomes a difficult learning point. Given the importance of "neng", this article focuses on the "neng" in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This article first expounds the general situation of the research and present situation of "neng". This article is based on predecessors’ research. From the aspects of semantic features and syntactic function, this article summarizes the meaning and usage of "neng". And contrast to it’s similar word "keyi" and "hui" in Chinese, and the differences and similarities between "can" in English. Then the author studies the HSK (HanYu Shuiping Kaoshi) dynamic composition corpus of the Beijing Language and Culture University. The author collects600primitive data and carries on the analysis, sorting, error correction, inductive. Through the survey of corpus, this article summarizes the bias of the use of "neng". Type of bias altogether is divided into four kinds, namely:missing errors, wrong sequence errors, error and bias and a mixture of errors. Next is the questionnaire survey. The questionnaire is designed according to the situation of the use of "neng" in the previous chapter. Through the survey, we can have more real understandings of the usages of Chinese native speakers and foreign students. According to the bias of "neng", the article carries on the design of teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. And the article combines the "3P" teaching model and task-based teaching mode in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. I hope this article be useful to teaching Chinese as a foreign language, render contributing to the internationalization of Chinese promotion.
