The Study On Disyllable Words In Zhengao

Zhengao(真诰)is the great sutra of Taoism in the South Dynasties of Eastern Jin. It has150,000words. Its language is plain, close to the spoken language at that time, which offers good material to linguistic research. This dissertation attempts to make an enveloped description of the disyllable words, and through the description to study the existence condition of the disyllable words. We chose a traditional topic, but we did our best to make some creation in the research angles and methods.There are four chapters in this dissertation.The first chapter is an introduction. After explaining the reasons of the study in this dissertation, and then it reviews the current situation about the research of Zhengao(真诰)After that, we explore the author, the writing process and the main contents of Zhengao (真诰).Finally, we discuss the methods of the study in the thesis and the differences between disyllabic and polysyllabic words and phrases.Chapter two is" The features of linguistics materials and the value of the research on the disyllable words in Zhengao(真诰)".The features of linguistics materials in Zhengao(真诰)are analyzed based on three sides which are times, spoken language words and specialty. Then we analyzed its vocabulary constitution, which mainly divided into the general words and professional words. And one conclusion is induced that Zhengao(真诰)is a precious trustable philological material for the study of middle ancient Chinese language. Furthermore, we analyzed the value of the research on the disyllable words in Zhengao(真诰)with examples, based on the vocabulary history of the Chinese and the compilation of the large-scale dictionaries.Chapter three is "Research on the disyllable morphology of Zhengao(真诰)”.We counted up the disyllable words according to the traditional word construction thoroughly and listed the statistics in the form lest the similarity in the method approach with previous disyllable words research. Moreover, we described the characters of each kind of words from the view of the compound and semantic relations of the morphemes that formed the word and parts of speech, and the motivation of their formation and development besides.Chapter four is" Source study of the disyllable words in Zhengao(真诰)". First, we discipline with examples from the view of the year when the words appeared dividing them into two parts such as succeeding words and new words. Furthermore, we summarized the characters and motivations of the succeeding words, besides that, the way and the mechanism that the new words and meanings appear were discussed. The internal mechanism that the words’system remaining stable was found out based on the above analysis.
