The research are based on the system combing with the review of the literature at home and abroad about hope. We adopted the method of questionnaire survey method, and chose six universities’students from Changsha in Hunan province by the method of overall random sampling. Every university is chosen150students to a total of600questionnaire survey to study. We have understood the current status of Hope of college students, have further discussed the relationship among Hope, Self-esteem and Social Support, and have cleared the internal mechanism of Social Support under the mediation of Self-esteem to influence college students’Hope in the study. All this above will provide empirical support for improving college students’Hope. The results show that:Firstly, the current status of college students’Hope is slightly above the average level. In the five dimensionalities of General Hope, Academic Hope, Family Hope, Leisure Hope and Love Hope, Family Hope is the highest score, Love Hope’s score is the minimum relatively. But the five dimensionalities are all over the average level. The whole Hope level is difference in the different grades and class overall performance, and there are differences on some dimensionalities in gender, family origin, the only child or not, but the whole Hope has no difference.Secondly, Hope is significantly related with Social Support. In every dimensionalities, Academic Hope is not significantly related with Objective Support. Hope and its five dimensionalities are significantly related with Self-Esteem.Thirdly, Social Support can directly affect Hope, and can also indirectly influenced Hope by Self-esteem. That is to say, Self-esteem has an intermediary role in the process of Social Support affecting Hope; Including the impact of Objective Support to Love Hope, Self-Esteem has a full mediating effect.
