This is a translation project report, consisting of a translation report andtranslation work. It is on Emissions Trading in China: Principles, Design Options andLessons from International Practice by Frank Jotzo in2013, of which chapter three,four, five are the source text. The main content is about cap setting, price management,market stabilization, permit allocation and revenue use. The source text, based on thediscussion of measures related the above mentioned aspects taken by other majoremission trading schemes, analyses challenges and difficulties China faces and givessome suggestions on China’s ETS improvement. This thesis is divided into four parts:first, introduction, including the background, objectives, significance of thetranslation project; Second, background of the source text, including the authorintroduction, main contents and linguistic features of the chosen source text; Third,translation difficulties, theory and methodology applied in the translation process,including the preparation, the application of Interpretative Theory of Translation, andexamples to explain the detailed methodology used; Fourth, conclusion about theenlightenments, lessons and unsolved problems in the translation project.
