With the rapid development of the global economy and the proposition of China,s "One Belt,One Road,initiative,the economic activities between China and foreign countries have been increasingly frequent,and cooperation is growing.Due to the continuous improvement of construction technology in the direction of civil engineering in recent years in China and the advantage that rest on a large number of cheap labor markets,China has already occupied a place in the field of overseas construction.China has begun to go abroad to contract projects,and the contracting market has extended Europe,America and Africa....In the process of cooperation between the two parties,contract as a legal basis,has become an important guarantee for the smooth cooperation between the two parties and the maximization of their interests.The translation quality of the contract directly affects the economic interests of both parties.Therefore,there are strong practical significance and urgent requirements for studying the translation of international engineering contracts.The construction contract is a semi-legal text whose main function is to accurately determine the rights and obligations agreed upon by the parties to the project contract and rigorously express the legal will of the parties to the project contract.Therefore,the English translation of a cross-region and cross-industry construction contract holds considerable sway on both parties to the contract.Grasping the language characteristics of the construction contract and understanding the characteristics of the contract text by translator is the basis and key for accurately understanding,drafting and translating the construction contract.In order to achieve this goal,translators need to be familiar with specialized terms and abbreviations corresponding in Chinese and English,and fully use appropriate translation techniques and translation theories to translate on the basis of loyalty and credibility so as to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding between the two parties to the contract.This translation practice report selects the contents of International Construction Contract Management and does Chinese-Eng]ish translation.It sum:marizes and analyzes the translation methods and strategies of construction contract texts combined with the guiding significance of skopos theory,aiming to putting forward some reference for the translation of similar texts in the future.This translation practice report is divided into four parts.The first part focuses on describing the translation task.The second part elaborates the translation process in detail.The third part is the case study which analyzes the problems in the translation process from the lexical and syntactic aspects by combining the guiding role of translation theory.The translator selects the entry point of the vocabulary which is easy to understand from point to point and focuses on the translation processing of professional terms and the amplification and omission of words as well as the problems of processing of the active and passive voices and long sentences,which strives to explore the problems appearing in the translated text from a comprehensive perspective.The fourth part summarizes the translation practice.The last part expounds the revelation and reference for the future translation of construction contract text provided by this research.
