Chinese Dictionary is a large-scale Chinese dictionary,with reaction tothousands of years Chinese historical changes.The principle of complication is the"ancient and modern integrated equal emphasis on the origins and development,trying to reflect the evolution of the Chinese vocabulary history." Chinese Dictionaryreserves all the imprints in the collection of ancient,medieval,modern andcontemporary Chinese vocabulary, adding to the corresponding literature documentsin ancient and modern times.So,Chinese Dictionary is the diachronic languagedictionary in reality as well as in name. Professor Lv Shuxiang said that ChineseDictionary could be Chinese vocabulary archives form ancient to modern times.However,owing to the limit of the specific historical conditions,socialfactors,technology,the knowledge of compilers and other factors.such a high level ofChinese dictionaries may not be the pink of perfection, and it had some problems,more or less. The author selects Chinese Dictionary Volume9to12as the researchobject,then searches and teases out the entries of the examples from Buddhistliteratures exhaustively. After that, the author analyzes its specific details from thequantity and content.The author used Japanese Taisho Tripitaka (2010) as master copy,and combinedexisting research results to point out the careless mistakes,to make corrections, toanalyze the reason and to put forward some advice on revision. Finally, the authorexpected to make a little contribution to the future and the overhaul project forChinese Dictionary.This paper can be divided into the following three parts: introduction, body andconclusion, also six chapters.Chapter1: Introduction. The author elaborated the reasons and research status,and stated the purpose, the significance, the goal and the method of the research, andthen illustrated the version and other problems.Chapter2: The author introduced the basic situation of the examples fromBuddhist literatures in Chinese Dictionary Volume9to12, and analyzed its specific details from the quantity and content.Chapter3&Chapter4: The two chapters include two parts: the translation ofBuddhist and the Chinese writing. Then the author analyzes five errors of citingexamples from Buddhist literatures in Chinese Dictionary Volume9to12, that is,examples from Buddhist literatures inconsistent with its interpretation; the wrongsource of examples from Buddhist literatures; the writing of examples from Buddhistliteratures existing omitting, errors and distribution, punctuation errors and theinconsistency of style standard. Finally, the author makes a correction.Chapter5: The author tries to discuss some revision problems of examples fromBuddhist literatures in Chinese Dictionary Volume9to12, then analyzes five factorsof its careless mistakes and brings forward some specific suggestions on revision.Chapter6: Conclusion.The author draws a conclusion of the paper, andindicates the shortcomings of the study.
