A Report On Interpreting For The Press Conference Of Shijiazhuang Yong Chang Football Club

With the rapid growth of Chinese economy, the deepening of the Reform and theOpening-up and the fast pace of the globalization of the world’s economy and culture，thecommunication between China and other countries is developing on many levels. In the past30years, the new and economically stronger China began to develop its professional sports.Because of this growth of Chinese sports, bringing in foreign players and coaches becamepopular for sports franchises. As the bridges of communication，the interpreters who worksfor the sports franchises became exceedingly crucial. This article is based on author’s personalexperience as the interpreter of Shijiazhuang Yongchang Football club, namely the interpreterof the press conference in last December. The purpose of this report is to give an introductionof one sports-related press conference from the perspective of an interpreter. This reportconsists of4parts: the first part is a detailed description of the whole project; the second partdescribes the process of interpreting for the press conference; the third part is a case analysisof the project; the final part is an in-depth summary of the whole project.
