Interpreting, as a oral communicative activity, refers to the process of converting the source language into the target language that involves two or more languages. A high-quality interpreting targets at reproducing the source language with another language instead of distorting it. In the process of interpreting, the interpreter serves as the ’intermediary’ between the two languages, both receiving and outputting the information. On some serious occasions with tense atmosphere, the interpreter is asked to immediately and correctly deliver the information of one party to another, despite the wide coverage of content and the diverse speech information. It means that in this process, the interpreters’understanding and expression of the information might be subject to their subjective perception of the source language, Chinese proficiency, semiotic conversion abilities and psychological quality. Objectively, they are also influenced by the atmosphere of the assembly room, the accent and dialect of the speaker, different English variety as well as voice and speed.
