With the popularity of piano education in China, problems also show up in view of teachingmethods that fail to conform to children’s traits, children suffering from rare opportunities to playtogether with other instruments, some teachers showing unsatisfactory quality, teachers andparents finding it difficult to guide students to practice piano as a happy interest, teachers andparents holding too much high expectations, inadequate music accomplishment on parents andabsence of admirable music atmosphere in the household. These problems all hinder children frompiano learning and block the development of piano education in China.Suzuki piano teaching was introduced in China at the end of last century. Since then devotedSuzuki piano teaching practitioners from abroad began the implementation and promotion ofSuzuki piano teaching in China. There have been an increasing number of piano teachers whoengage in Suzuki teaching research and practice and children in growing numbers have benefitedfrom Suzuki teaching method. This book aims to strengthen theoretical research of Suzuki methodand international communication, accelerate the localization of Suzuki teaching theory and thisteaching material, improve piano teachers’ teaching ability, enhance social concerns to arteducation, promote Suzuki method in China and provide reference for constructing a personalizedpiano education system.
