With time passing by, it formed a tradition of parting advice naturally. From Han and Wei to Sui dynasty, in more than400years, various factors such as ear ethos, social condition, and the development of literature itself, made the farewell poetry form different patterns of characteristics. The new change of farewell elements such as the popularization of farewell objects, the expantion of creative subject and the simplification of farewell ceremony opened the secularization route of farewell poetry in Han dynasty.The prevailing of the reciprocation and feast banquet expanded the communicative function of farewell poetry to the greatest degree. The poetry of the Southern and Northern Dynasties expressed ego emotions, at the same time returned to the nature of lyric poetry. The creation of farewell poems was splendid rather than beautiful, with sincere feelings. Sui Dynasty extended and developed the tendency of the Southern and Northern dynasties, and integrated with the style of the Southern and Northern dynasties. The farewell poems before the Tang Dynasty made sufficient foreshadowing and preparations for the thrive of the Tang farewell poems.Lucubrate the development of the farewell poems in this stage will help us to know the ear ethos and the difference between the poem styles of the Southern and Northern dynasties.This paper including introduction, main body and conclusion three fragments.The introduction part mainly introduced the research status of the achievements and the deficiencies of farewell poems before the tang dynasty and the research purpose of this paper. On the basis of summarizing the predecessors’ research findings, from the perspective of rheology to discuss the development and the changes of farewell poems before the tang dynasty, to analyze the cause of farewell poems and excavate the historical value and significance of its existence.The dissertation is consisted of three chapters:Chapter Ⅰ The origin, connotation and the definition standard of the farewell poems. In the first place, we expounded the origin of the farewell poems, followed by discussing the connotation and the criterion of the farewell poems, finally, briefly analyzed the phenomenon of the gradually extinction of the name of the farewell and the replacement of the name of the farewell.Chapter Ⅱ The development and the variation of the farewell poems before Tang Dynasty Chapter Ⅱ is the key part of this article, divided into4parts. According to Han Dynasty, Wei and Jin Dynasties, the Northern and Southern Dynasties and Sui Dynasty these four periods as divisions of history into periods. We discussed the characteristics and the development situation of the farewell poem in each period.Section Ⅰ Through the nongovernmental of the objective of the farewell, the magnify of the creation subject, the simplify of the farewell ceremony, the appearance of the human feeling and the emotionalization of the image specifically expounded the development tendency of the secularization of the farewell poems of the Han Dynasty.Section Ⅱ Under the big historical background of the ethos of respond with a poem, a nd the thrive of inscribe a poem in a banquet, analyzed the construction of the communica tive function of the farewell poems of the Wei-Jin period. In the field of farewell poems, r esponding with a poem and inscribe a poem in a banquet promoted the development of the responding with a poem and collective work to some extent.Section III On the basis of widely reading and analyzing the text and correlated poetr y elements, excavated and probed into the delicate feelings contained in the farewell poems of the Southern Dynasties and the multiple complex emotions in the farewell poems of th e Northern Dynasties.Section IV Used Sui Dynasty as research object. On account of the short duration of the Sui Dynasty, the amount of the farewell poems was limited, so only made a brief ove rview.Chapter III The cause of the prosperity of the farewell poems before Tang Dynasty.
