One of the necessary conditions for the success of modern leadership is that theycan rapidly transform their own ideas and adjust behavior patterns in according to thechanging times and the requirements of the environment. For modern leader, living in themodern information age, how to correctly face to e-government environment andproperly use e-government technology is one of the urgent problems. The solutions ofthis problem have great theoretical and practical significance. The Economic and SocialCouncil of the United Nations-governmental organizations have regarded improvinggovernment organizations in developing countries, restructuring public administration,and ultimately realizing share resources by information as the focal point of work.Premier Zhu Rongji pointed out that:"Information is the overall trend of thedevelopment of the world. Promoting E-government construction will be important toimprove the overall quality of the national economy, improve the level of modernmanagement, strengthen government oversight, improve administrative efficiency, andcarry out the anti-corruption work. Leadership’ work is to accelerate the learning ofinformation technology, strengthen the government management using of informationtechnology means, promote the transformation of government functions, and improvegovernment efficiency and management level, as well as promote openness ingovernment affairs and building a clean government."The development of e-government will bring great impact on modern leadership,but also provides a good opportunity. Based on China’s e-government of the currentdevelopment and construction, combined with the construction experience of the rest ofthe world of e-government, this article discussed modern leaders how to deal with thechallenges of e-government and the improving path of government leadership.
