Hunger breeds, food safety first. In any eras and Countries, food safety is the mostimportant things of the peace and prosperity. It will not only threaten the health of the persons,but also effect the sustainable development of the economics and harmony and stability of thesocials.In recent years, our Country’s food safety incidents have occurred frequently, and havebecome an important factor to threaten our people’s health and life. Food safety is veryimportant for the people’s health, the stability of the socials and the sustainable developmentof the economics. Faced with the worsening situations of the food safety, the Chinesegovernment has adopted a series of measures to insure the food safety supervision, but we arestill not optimistic. The China’s food safety supervision still has many problems. This paperidentifies the methods and strategies to respond to the shortcomings of China’s food safetysupervision.This paper based on the theoretical of economics and laws to describe our food safetyregulation, to in-depth analysis of the current problems of China’s food safety regulation. Itintroduce the experiences and enlightenments of the food safety regulation of USA, Japan,EU and other developed Countries and regions, and learns from the outstanding experiencesof the developed Countries and regions, to propose some reflections and recommendationswhich are in line with the conditions of our Country to solve the issues of our food safetyregulation.This article is composed of six parts:The first part is an introduction. It introduced the topic of this article, the objectives andsignificance of the research.The second part is the analysis of the general concepts of the food safety regulation.Define the main concepts of the food safety, the food safety supervision and analyze thecharacteristics of the food safety, and describe the types of the food safety regulation.The third part is the theoretical basis of the food safety regulatory. Analyze the theoriessuch as information asymmetries, externalities, order value, equity and justice, social standardand so on, and describe the theoretical basis of the food safety regulatory.The fourth part is the status and deficiencies of China’s food safety regulation. This partintroduced the situations of China’s food safety, and the current problems of our Country’s food safety regulation.The fifth part is the experience and inspiration of the food safety supervision of theforeign Counties and regions. It introduced the food safety supervision of foreign Countiesand regions, and analyzed the successful experiences of the foreign countries and regions.The last part is some proposals of our food safety supervision. In this part, it put forwardseveral suggestions to improve our food safety supervision, which is including improving thelevels of laws and regulations, overcoming the failures of government regulation, raising thethreshold of the market access, improving the standards of the food safety and the punitivedamages system.
