Study On Local Government Public Service

The18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward to construct a service-oriented government which is scientific functions, structural optimization, efficient and satisfying citizens. With the increasing demands for the public services, to satisfy the customers’ requirements have become the common goal and aim for all levels of government. As an important component of urban public transportation, taxi service is also a public service. Thus the quality of the taxi service will impact the citizens’ satisfaction to the government.In recent years, the taxi driver strike incidents occur occasionally. It will not only impact the normal social order, but the citizens also can’t enjoy the taxi service. As a result, citizens will lose confidence to the government’s credibility. This thesis is based on study Nanchang Taxi service quality and to analyze the problems found. By using questionnaire survey and depth interview methods to prove citizens are not satisfied with Nanchang taxi service and taxi drivers are have different opinions about operating system of Nanchang taxi service which is managing the taxi by sign a contract with taxi drivers and taxi drivers will pay a sum of fixed money to the taxi management company. According to the entrepreneurs’ government theory and new public service theory, the role of local government is monitor not supplier. Private sector also can provide public service for the citizens. Regarding to solve the existed problems, in this thesis some strategies are proposed in order to put forward effective ways to optimize public service and enhance citizens’ satisfaction.
