The industrial revolution has promoted the development of productivity and social advancement of the capitalist societies. The enrichment of merchandises, currencies and capital does not emancipate men whereas it enhances the enslavement of men by the things they themselves created. Human societies fall into the regime of fetishism and the capitalist societies are literally fetishist societies.Fetishism constitutes the reality of inversion of men and things and enslavement of men by things in modern societies. The essence of the Marxist criticism against fetishism is the criticism against the capitalist societies and for the pursuit of an ideal society where men can be fully freed and developed. The emergence of fetishism is closely related to social division of labor and private ownership while the emergence of merchandises acts as a catalyst, especially when the capitalist societies are filled with merchandises as well as currencies and capital which are developed so forth into such a charm that men start to worship them. The capitalist societies are societies of alienation in which the things created by men enslave men and the social relationship between men are shadowed by the relationship between things. Based on the reality of the societies at that time, Marx reveals the secrets underneath fetishism by implementing the world outlook and methodology of Marxist dialectical materialism. Fetishism, as one of "the pains" we have to endure in the development of human society, inorder to eliminate the alien rule of fetishism,we have to constantly develop the means of production, In the socialist economic market fetishism brought a lot of harms, the scientific analysis and criticism of these fetishism, help people to establish the correct values, outlook on money, to promote the construction of party style and a incorrupt government, promote a further perfect social distribution system and harmonious society.
