With the coming of the era of knowledge-driven economy and of the profound reform of Chinese government, the entailment and mode of working of grass-roots officials have gone through substantial transformations, which have also led to greater pressure for the civil officials. As a result, many an official is now suffering from kinds of psychological, physical as well as behavioral problems and thus the efficiency and development of the whole organization are negatively impacted.This thesis is therefore intending to study pressure and pressure-management related theories from a multi-disciplinary perspective that involving a number of different disciplines such as management science, human resources management, psychology and so on. To be more specified, this thesis would then confine itself to the study of working pressure and its management, with an elaborate analysis and elucidation upon the professionalism and pressure influence factors of the grass-roots civil servants working in Guangxi Province. Based on this research, this article embarks on a field survey on grass-roots officials of a specific county in Guangxi in the form of in-depth interviews and questionnaires, with the support of the theory of an interaction system of "human-work-organization-environment". This field study is supposed to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the current management situation and the source of the working pressure that is exerted upon civil servants in Guangxi Province. As for the resolution, this thesis then will propose several measures for pressure-management from three different levels:the environment, the organization as well as human beings. To conclude, this thesis is in the hope of alleviating or even removing the passive effect of working pressure borne by Guangxi civil servants, under which circumstances that civil servants will give full play to the positive effect of their working pressure and achieve the enhancement of the organizational efficiency and self-improvement in the mean time.
