Mao zedong’s thought on learning, refers to the learning view which is formed byMao zedong in practice, is comprehensive system of scientific explanation to basicproblems of learning,such as "what is a learning, why to learn(learning goals), Whatto learn (learning content), how to learn (learning principles and learningmethods)"etc. Since the modern times, with the invasion of the western capitalistpowers, China was gradually reduced to a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society,social principal contradiction also changed, how to save the nation from subjugation,"to win national independence and liberation of the people", and "to realize thenational prosperity and people’s common prosperity", which are important subjects ofmodern social development history presents to the Chinese nation, and are importantpractical problems the view of Mao zedong learning need to deal with and solve. theleadership of the Chinese Communist Party’s new democratic revolution, socialistrevolution and socialist construction in practice, providing the realistic soil andpractical foundation for the formation and development of the view of Mao Zedonglearning. On the source of theory, Marxism-leninism plays a decisive influence on theformation of Mao zedong learning concept, chinese traditional culture on theformation of Mao Zedong learning also produced important influence. Follow theformation and development trajectory of Mao Mao zedong learning view, which canbe roughly divided into the following several stages: embryonic stage(early schoolperiod-1927), basic formation stage (1927-1935), the mature stage (1935-1945),and continuing development stage (1946-after the founding of new China). The main contents of Mao zedong’s view of learning are as follows: the purpose of learning, toexplore the road of salvaging the country, and reform in China and the world, which isfollowed by Mao zedong lifetime learning objective. In the new democratic revolutionperiod, the purpose of learning is to overthrow the three big mountains of oppression:imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat-capitalism, realizing national independenceand liberation of the people. After the founding of new China, achieving nationalprosperity and people prosperity became the main purpose of learning in this newhistorical mission. And the ultimate purpose of this two big tasks is to realize theall-around development of the people, therefore, to strengthen the transformation ofpeople, and cultivate training qualified talents who can implement the important taskin different historical stage, which is also important to Mao Zedong on learning andeducation. And, this is the need to strengthen the learning in the party, to improve thewhole party’s theoretical accomplishment, to construction of the big parties, improvethe work, enhance the party’s cohesion and combat effectiveness, and to consolidatethe party’s ruling status, so as to realize the objectives and tasks of the party indifferent periods. To study Marxism-Leninism, history and culture knowledge, naturalscience, economic work and management work, which is Mao zedong advocated andemphasized the main learning content. The unification of theory and practice is thefundamental principle for Mao zedong learning, which carries out and implements thespecific learning activities, and reflects on his fundamental method about learning.Under the guidance of the fundamental principles and basic methods, Mao zedongformed a set of effective learning methods, such as "reading, thinking","discuss andstudy together","Accumulate and science ", launched the "learning movement","establish learning system" etc. Mao zedong’s view of learning, which has veryimportant guidance and enlightenment function to the power of socialist cultureconstruction, the construction of marxist learning party, and individual learning.
