Learning behaviour of farmers belongs to the category of adult learning, which is an issue of considerable interest with regard to educational psychology, learning psychology, social psychology and management psychology. Upon reviewing previous research, the present work carries out analyses in respect of current situation and influencing factors such as notion and motivation of learning, elements hindering learning, learning style, learning strategies, preference upon choice of learning material by means of questionnaire and free association technology. Afterwards, some suggestions are proposed to ensure and promote farmers'learning from the perspective of the management. The results reveal that the notion of farmers'lifelong learning remains still on the stage of being realized; some examinees regard learning as the duty of students and children within schools; most of them consider learning from a positive point of view; a large proportion of farmers think that learning is troublesome.Farmers'learning motives mainly focus on cognitive interest, earning more and providing better education for their children. Significant differences are found in terms of farmers'age, marriage situation, children situation, level of education, annual income of the family and living place.Hindering elements of farmers'learning are mainly insufficiency of money, lack of time and whoever can teach them what they want to learn. Marked differences are also found with respect to farmers'age, level of education and living place. Mainly hindering elements of farmers'learning is significantly related to mainly learning motivation orientation.Farmers'learning styles are largely classified as active type, practical type, competitive type and independent type. Learning strategies are mainly practice-testing and significantly different in terms of age and level of education. The primary choice of learning material is non-agricultural.On the basis of research above, the following suggestions are made: 1. lifelong learning be extensively publicized, so that farmers'notion of learning can be changed in less time; 2. relevant laws and statutes be established and completed to ensure farmers'learning; 3. scientific and suitable learning material be offered; 4. financial support be supplied to provide convenient and cheap learning opportunities; 5. suitable training for farmers be designed; 6. farmers'learning capability be cultivated so that farmers can know how to learn.
