As its absolute number’ growing, disabled people become more and morebe concerned. According to the world health organization, about600million people around the world have various types of disabilities. In2006, the second national handicapped person investigation andstatistical results of China show that the disabled reached82.96million,accounting for6.4%of the total population. The disabled are limited bytheir own conditions, low level of overall cultural, weak employmentability. All of those make them disadvantage in social competition andobtaining resources. Economic poverty, emotional vulnerability andunable to find a way out of the slam shut, often makes them despair. Evensomeone maliciously use their disability and go to crime. In recent years,the rate of disabled crime has been going more and more highly, whichinvolves infringing upon personal and property security, public safety,and other kinds of illegal or criminal behaviors. Besides, there are moredisabled juveniles committing crime, so Disabled crime has become aserious threat to public order and social emotion. Since the reform andopening up, undertakings for disabled people in theory and practice havebeen rapidly development. Disabled crime is part of undertakings fordisabled people, so it deserves attention of the society.This article will start from the education, employment, economicsources, family income, and social participation ability, and thencombine with a large amount of data and case materials to summarize the features of all kinds’ disabled crimes. I try to explain respectivelycrime causes and put forward countermeasures for the disabled by thestrain theory and social support theory. Except the introduction, thearticle is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is a summary of Disabled crime, in which firstly I definethe concept of disabled person, and then summarize the basic conditionof the disabled according to the second national handicapped survey, andat last analyze the concept and characteristics of Disabled crime indetail.Chapter two is the cause of Disabled crime, in which I introduce thestrain theory and its relationship with the disabled crime, and find thesource of tension for the disabled from social and individual aspects.In chapter three, I will introduce the social support theory, andanalyze its positive role in decreasing crimes. In addition, I willanalyze simply some problems of social support for the disabled in ourcountry.In chapter four, I will put forward some advice for our social supportwith the disabled, which includes formal and informal. As to the informalsupport, I will put forward some suggestions mainly on family support,due to the characteristics of family standard for Chinese society and theimportance of family for the disabled people.
