The report to The eighteenth National Congress of the CPC points out: culture is thelifeblood of a nation, and it gives the people a sense of belonging. To complete the building ofa moderately prosperous society in all respects and achieve the great renewal of the Chinesenation, we must create a new surge in promoting socialist culture and bring about its greatdevelopment and enrichment, increase China’s cultural soft power, and enable culture toguide social trends, educate the people, serve society, and boost development. Mao’s socialistcultural view is the main idea and theoretical perspective on cultural construction which is putforwarded by Chinese communists represented by Mao Zedong during the process ofnew-democratic revolution, combining Marxism with Chinese reality. It is an important partof Maoism. And it makes great contribution to the formation of the Chinese-characterizedsocialist culture and the construction of Chinese advanced culture. Summarizing and learningMao Zedong Thought of socialistic culture has theoretical significance and realistic meaningto the construction of socialist advanced culture, culture construction, maintenance of theright direction of political, and harmonious socialist society construction. This paper isdivided into five parts to present Mao Zedong Thought of socialistic culture: the theoreticalbasis of Mao Zedong Thought of socialistic culture; The development of the thought of newdemocracy culture and the main idea of thought of socialist culture--the importance andpolicies of socialist culture construction, the last part is to elaborate the practical significanceof studying Mao Zedong Thought of socialistic culture for reforming the cultural system andmaking the socialist culture more prospective.
