After1500, the world has become closer and closer. The struggle among different countries for the power was increasingly ending by violence. After World War Ⅱ, the United Stated and the Soviet Union created a new way, cold war, which is different from the past. After cold war, the U.S. beat the Soviet Union and maintained the hegemony. Enter new ages, the rise of China made America realized that it would threaten the hegemony. This paper argues that America had to choose a "new cold war" to answer China due to history and ideological reasons. On this occasion, China and America become more and more competitive, more and more suspect. This increased the aspiration of America to answer China with "new cold war".Specifically, the method of "new cold war" was similar to the cold war, which included Ideology of the extreme opposite, geopolitical confrontation, armament race and economic limit. The final target was downfall of Beijing. But unlike the past, the environment of the word is different from50years ago, Asia now own more discrepancy compare with Europe. Then China and America will own wider and wider interests in the future instead of conflict. Recently, Chinese leaders began to reply America use the new diplomatic concept. It would create more benefit environment for China and made it impossible for the attempt of the U.S.The author found that the U.S. couldn’t Confront with China whether war or cold war. This made the U.S. enter the dilemma, but we must still prevent the pitfall. China and America are competing with each other more and more intense now. It will become an urgent issue that how to get rid of Cold War mentality and out a new way to establish the new pattern of relationship between great powers.
