Advocate and encourage the young elderly to participate young elderly participating in volunteer service is an important way to achieve active aging. Currently, the trend of young elderly participating in volunteer service has been initially formed. As an important way to realize active aging strategy, it draws widespread concern in academic circle. This article focuses on how to enhance "power" and the ability of younger elderly people through their own efforts and effective way of social work, thus promote their participation in volunteer service. By using qualitative research method, in-depth interviews with ten young elderly, this thesis comprehensively describes and analyzes the helplessness and powerlessness of young elderly participating in volunteer service, based on which analysis the possibility of the advantages, namely empowerment of young elderly. An empowerment for young elderly from individual, interpersonal and social levels, can help them to change their own vulnerable status, enhance their sense of self-efficacy, and improve their ability to participate in volunteer service. The study found that, by developing the self-awareness of young elderly and enhancing their social resilience in the participation of volunteer service can slow down their physical, psychological and ability recession. And, by extending the social network of young elderly and improving their interpersonal level can help solve the problems of interpersonal circle reduction and communication object simplification. Besides, by improving their ability of social participation and ability to deal with social exclusion and conflict, and providing open access to information, can help young elderly solve the following problems, such as reduced social status, weakened expression of interest, deprived of the economic benefits and blocked information channels. On the basis of these above mentioned studies, this thesis also discusses what enlightenment we could get from the research results of social works.
