Rising in the second half of last century, the Non-profit Organization has the unique features that are different from the first sector "public sector" and second sector "private sector", so it has also been called the third sector. At the same time, social problems are getting increasingly complicated, they cannot be addressed by a single factor, which leads to the cross-sector collaboration. In the Cross-sector Collaboration, the organizations from different sectors deal with social problems collectively, such as economic development, education, medical care, poverty, communication construction and environmental preservation. As a result, the boundaries between three sectors are getting unclear.Among the different types of Cross-sector Collaboration, Non-profit Organizations are trying to collaborate with the surrendering organizations and interest groups in diversified ways in order to make up the deficiency in the resources and motivation. The collaboration with corporations is one kind of the Cross-sector Collaboration. The high efficiency of inner management and the pursuit for social responsibility have provided a chance for the collaboration between public interest and business groups. The growing partnership between these two kinds of organizations also caters to the trend of cross-sector collaboration. This paper focused on two key words—"pattern selection" and "risk management", associating with full and accurate cases under the background of cross-sector collaboration. According to the extent of connection, this research generalized four patterns of cross-sector collaboration and analyzed feasibility of collaboration from the perspective of the risks with which NPO may be faced. It also concluded the evaluation standards for applicability of each pattern and discussed the circumstance in which NPO should discontinue the cross-sector collaboration, which provided the path of decision-making for Non-profit Organizations.Opportunities always coexist with challenges in collaboration. This paper also put forward some measures to control risks from the perspectives of NPO on the base of risk analysis. The whole paper focused on the practice of Non-profit Organization and took it as the starting point and foothold for research from beginning to end, hoping to provide a reference and basis for NPO’s cross-sector decisions.
