A SWOT Analysis On NPO’s Participating In Social Assistance And Strategies

In the process of improving social assistance system, a kind of folk socialforces—non-profit organizations gradually demonstrate their unique advantages when they areoffering the social relief service, which has drawn common attention in the society. Due to theirstrengths in public welfare， voluntary， aid diversity,etc., non-profit organizations canparticipate in social assistance and make up for the insufficiency of government assistance.Therefore, the NPOs’ social assistance also has various problems, including shortage of finance,the lack of public supervision and credibility, etc. Therefore, it is very necessary to conduct astudy on NPOs’ participating in social assistance. Basing on people’s attention on bothnon-profit organizations and social assistance,this thesis tries to make a combined research onthe two fields，deeply analyses the advantages and disadvantages of NPOs’ assistance, then putsforward some suggestions, to encourage the NPO to play an unique role in social assistance.Commencing from the introduction, the article firstly introduces the research backgroundand significance, the research situation at home and abroad, the research techniques andinnovation points. Then in Chapter II, it illustrates the concepts of the non-profit organizationsand social assistance comprehensively, as well as introduces the theoretical basis of the article.In the Chapter III, the thesis makes an analysis on the development and current situation ofNPOs’ participating in social assistance, finds out the strength, weakness, opportunity and threatof the NPOs’ social assistance by adopting the SWOT analysis. The fourth chapter summarizesthe experiences for reference through the non-profit organizations’ activities in social assistancein America and the UK. In Chapter V, the article analyzes the full text and puts forwards someproposals to improve the NPOs’ social assistance activities. Finally, in the conclusion, itsummarizes full text and forecasts the development prospect of NPOs’ contribution to socialassistance.
