Study On Rural Family Support For The Elderly Problems In Fujian Province

In2000， China began to enter the aging society. The pension issue has beenpaid more and more attention by scholars now. In view of fundamental realities ofChina， the pension in urban and rural areas are two relatively independent issues. Inrural areas，the family pension is the major mode. In this paper，the current status ofrural family pension in Xiabao Village of Nanping， Fujian Province is taken as thecase to investigate the factors affecting the demand and supply for rural familypension， so as to propose the countermeasures.Taking scholars’researches at home and abroad as references， the intension ofrural family pension is suggested as the way for old aged farmers live in family. Inthis study， an on–the–spot survey was conducted on the farmer households inXiabao Village of Nanping， Fujian Province by designed questionnaires. After beingaware of the individual conditions of the old aged people in this village， theinvestigation was undertaken by interviews in terms of income， livelihood andmentality， so as to overall analyze and evaluate the rural family pension in details.Finally the factors affecting supply and demand of rural family pension areanalyzed. The demand of rural family pension is analyzed from three factors such asindividual income， endowment insurance awareness and external market economy.The supply of rural family pension is analyzed from the factors such as securitymechanism， funding， supervision system， pension policy， law and regulations.Integrated with actual on-the-spot survey， the countermeasures are proposed.
