The Study Of China’s Political Culture Construciton-from The Perspective Of Socialist Core Value System

In the transition age of social development in China, the imbalance of economic andsocial development becomes more and more outstanding. Advancing further the politicalconstruction and the political system reform is the internal requirement of developing socialistdemocratic politics, and also the objective requirement of further promoting the reform ofeconomic system and the reform of social system. Under the background of culture more andmore becoming an important source of national cohesion and creativity, an importantcompetition factor of comprehensive national power and an important support of economicand social development, constructing socialist democracy and promoting the reform ofpolitical system urgently require advanced socialist political culture to release powerfullyspiritual cohesion. This demands that we must firmly grasp the basic requirements and itsdevelopment trend of contemporary Chinese socialist political culture, focus on the practiceof building socialism with Chinese characteristics, focus on the leading edge of the world’spolitical and cultural development, develop continuously advanced socialist political culturewith Chinese characteristics, and meet the demand of the people’s growing political spiritculture.Every political culture has its own core value orientation which decides the nature of itspolitical culture and decides the way of thinking and behavior of its political communitymembers. In contemporary China, the socialist core value system, which decides thedevelopment direction of the political culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, is thesoul of developing China, the essence of socialist advanced culture and the embodiment ofsocialist ideology. Under the background of the complicated situation and different socialideological trend at home and abroad, China’s political culture construction is faced withmultiple constraints and impact. Forming advanced political culture with Chinesecharacteristics at present is still a difficult task and full of challenges. In view of the facts,giving a full play to the leading function of the socialist core value system and promoting thedevelopment of Chinese political and cultural construction in a right direction, is significantand urgent.The thesis is divided into four parts except the preface and the conclusion.The first part mainly expounds the basic connotation of the construction of China’spolitical culture and the system of socialist core value, and relationship between two, in orderto provide the basic knowledge and theory premise for the study of the development ofChina’s political culture. The socialist core value system plays a guiding and regulating role in the construction of China’s political culture. it is the main content of the construction ofChina’s socialist political culture. It contributes to the construction of political culture identityand practice, and the integration of social and political trends.The second part mainly puts forward the basic aims of China’s political cultureconstruction, including: the guiding status of the Marxism in the political culture constructionis strengthened; the positive factors of fusion of Chinese traditional political culture andwestern political culture are assimilated; democracy and the rule of law, fairness and justice ofmodern political values are embodied; the benign interaction of elite culture and popularculture is facilitated.Combined with the socialist core value system, the third part mainly analyzes the statusquo, existing problems and restricting factors of current Chinese political culture development.First, new improvements of China’s political culture construction of in the new period include:in the aspect of political cognition and value judgment, changes from emotionalization to therationalization have been achieved; in the political value orientation, the collective valueorientation and individual one tend to balance; in the aspect of political behavior, moreidentity is emphasized than fighting spirits; in the aspect of political culture structure,closeness turns to openness. Second, there are some problem of political and culturalconstruction in China: such as, weaker functions of social integration of dominant politicalculture, the lack of political psychological factors of civil society and the contradictionbetween the ideal of the socialist democratic politics and the current situation of the politicalparticipation of social main body. Third, the factors which restrict the development of theChinese political culture are: expansion and permeability of western capitalist political culture;the "cohesion" of Chinese traditional political culture; the objective restriction at the pimarystage of socialism; the relatively slow process of political socialization.The fourth part mainly discusses the practical methods of China’s political cultureconstruction from the perspective of socialist political culture: fiirst, building the theoreticalfoundation of socialist political culture construction with Marxism as guiding ideology;second, cultivating leading political value orientation on the basis of the common ideal ofsocialism with Chinese characteristics; third, stimulating the motivation of China’s politicalsystem reform with the support of national spirit and era spirit; fourth, strengthening theethical dimension of Chinese political culture construction by the standards of the socialismoutlook for honor and dishonor. From the perspective of socialist core value system, the thesis attempts to explore thepractical methods of China’s political cultural construction in new period. Given the author’slimitation, in the thesis, there are some deficiencies.
