The output power quality of locomotive diesel generator set decideslocomotive electrical equipment operating characteristics, and the speed ofdiesel generator set influence the stability of power quality supply. Therefore,diesel generator set speed stability control is the key factor to guaranteelocomotive electrical equipment performance.Presently the diesel generator set control system response speed hasproblems of slow, poor accuracy and when the loads change large the dieselgenerator set output voltage and frequency fluctuates large. Studying thegovernor of diesel generator set has an important practical significance.Model-free control is an advanced control strategy not depending on theaccurate mathematical model of the object. It has a good control result for thesystem of nonlinear, delay and time-varying characteristic.For locomotive diesel generator set control system has the problem of poorresponse characteristics when load changes, joining the model-free control inconventional PID control to control the deviation of system speed. Building themathematical model of locomotive diesel generator set speed control system andbased on Matlab/Simulink simulation software building a system simulationmodel, and simulating systems. The simulation result shows that when the loadchanges, using the model free adaptive PID to control the diesel generator setcan greatly reduces instantaneous adjustable rate and stable time, makingprocess of diesel generator set rotation speed fast and smooth, and the quality ofpower supply is guarantee. Finally, the Shrink ratio experiment of system ismade in the Quanser Semi-physical experiment platform. And designing thespeed control system hardware structure and software flow chart. It proves thatmodel-free PID control method is feasible and has practical significance.
