Objectives Based on the summary and analysis of the current documents, the study explores realization of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Modern Medicine in the formation of Hyperlipidemia and the way their therapeutics. By analyzing the influence of the Shanzha Shanyao Tang(SST) on experimental hyperlipidemia small white rats, focus on the weight control, protection of the vascular intima and organs, lipid levels adjustment and so on, goes fuher to sort out the effect of SST in the treatment of Hyperlipidemia and its working mechanism.Methods Theoretical investigate:Combination the literature review and the clinical conclusion of Chinese medicine practitioners practice.Experimenial inquiry:Effect of SST on the hyperlipidemia small white rats lipid, the rats are sub-divided randomly into the normal control group, the model group, Xue zhi-kang control group, and high-dose, middle-dose, low-dose SST groups according to SST, stomach-perfusion lasted for4weeks.1. Individually to detect the levels of total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) in serum.2. To detect the levels of nitric oxide(NO)&endothelin-1(ET-1) in serum.3. Use enzyme methods to detect the superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and malondialdehyde(MDA) contents in the liver.4. To observe the weight, liver index, spleen index and liver pathology alteration in ICR male mice with hyperlipidemia.Results1.Disorder of Gan, Pi, Shen are its major etiological factors in hyperlipidemia, all the symptom will appear according to phlegm and stasis.2.SST could suppress the trend of weight gain and protect the liver and spleen; it also could reduce the contents of TC, TG, and LDL-C levels in serum as well as arteriosclerosis index (AI), and increase the content of HDL-C in serum, the result shows that SST has marked function of regulating lipid metabolism.3.SST could reduce ET-1levels and increase NO levels apparently. It could prevent the blood vessel endothelium damage of hyperlipemia and protect blood vessel endothelium function.4.SST obviously increased the activity of SOD, and decreased the content of MDA in tissue, it could reduce oxidative damage of hyperlipemia through amending free radical metabolism. slow down the process of high-fat diet mouse liver steatosis, and play the function of the organ protection.Conclutions The treatment of hyperlipidemia is to strengthen the Gan, Pi, Shenm, to resolve the turbid phlegm and blood stasis, nourishing Yin Ye; SST can control weight, protect important organ, endangium and regulate blood lipid.
