With the rapid development of modern society,multitudes of novel things andminds are springing up.Whileas the new word is like a mirror that reflects thesenewly born things.As a special social language phenomenon,new word can reflectthis particular era and the common psychology of people,that’s the reason why it’s ofgreat importance and value for the analysis.New word,in fact,is a kind of lexical phenomena,holding the feature oftimeliness,periodicity,high frequency as well as novelty.Vocabulary is the most activepart among the three essential factors.However,the new word updates the fastest inthe vocabulary so that it attracts the attention and pondering from the language studyfield. The study of new words nearly covers every aspect and achieves fruitfulresults.However,most papers concentrate on the study of new words’features,noumenon of loanwords or lettered words from the social perspective that isrelated to social psychological cultural relationship.Thus,the lack of puttingtheoretical study of noumenon into teaching practice causes the disjunction betweentheory and practical situation.This essay,on the one hand,study the noumenon from the aspect ofdefinition,category,semantic feature and so on through the theory of lexicology andsemeiology,using method of induction,interpretation,exemplification,etc.On the otherhand,this essay does further analysis and probe about new word and Chinese teachingto foreigners.By the investigation and conclusion of authoritative foreign Chinesetextbooks,this essay comes to the conclusion of new word’s present position inforeign Chinese teaching and instructional strategies in the days to come.By means ofthat the author wants to catch attention for new word teaching so that some help canbe provided for future teaching.
