Purpose:1.To understand the status of secondary vocational students’psychological resilience;and explore the influence factors of secondary vocational students’psychological resilience;2.To present the important experience of the students and explore that how the protective factors affected their life.Methods:1.QuestionnaireIn this study,1511students from2grades were administered questionnaires which are "Teenagers mental resilience scale ","Self-esteem scale"," social support scale "," Trait coping style questionnaire "and"Five personality inventory "to preliminarily analyze the impact factors of resilience.2.Experimental ResearchFour classes were randomly selected from this school, using individual measuring method to measure students’implicit self-esteem.3.Qualitative researchEight students were interviewed in the psychological counseling center. Using video recordings and paper notes to ensure the information reliable.Results:1. Survey findings:(1) The score of secondary vocational students’ psychological resilience is95.01.The dimension of positive cognitive gains the highest score,while the dimension of emotional control gains the lowest.(2) There was no significant difference of the total score of resilience in the only child or not,while there are significant differences in the professional, gender,grade, family status and parenting. There are significant differences between boys and girls in the target concentration, emotional control, interpersonal assist and resilience score(P<0.05);Different grade students had statistically significant in emotional control, interpersonal assist and resilience score (P<0.05).(3)The students’resilience has significant correlation with personality, self-esteem, trait coping styles, understanding social support (P<0.01).(4) The main factors that influence the students’resilience are neuroticism, understanding social support score and negative coping style, sense of responsibility, positive coping styles, self-esteem scores, gender, kind, open, and family support. These factors can explain58.8%of the student’s psychological elasticity variation.(5) Structural equation model and hypothesis model are fitting better.2.The experiment results:(1) Self-esteem of the secondary vocational students has two aspects-explicit self-esteem and implicit self-esteem.These two aspects are two different psychological structures(r=0.035, P=0.035)..(2) There are significant difference in total score and family supporters between high explicit-high implicit self-esteem, high explicit-low implicit self-esteem, low explicit-high implicit self-esteem and low explicit-low implicit self-esteem group (F=3.83, P=0.012; F=2.745, P=0.047).(3)The explicit self-esteem can effectively predict students’psychological resilience (P<0.05), while implicit self-esteem has not entered the regression equation. The interaction of Implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem could effectively predict inter-personal assist dimension(P<0.05).3. The qualitative research results:(1) Most impressive events in the growth of students are negative events;(2) Negative emotions can reasonable catharsis after setbacks;(3)In the face of setbacks, the participants show similar characteristics in different personality; (4) They holding a reasonable belief after setbacks;(5) The social support system could help individuals to cope with setbacks and get well-developed;(6)Positive coping styles contribute to the development of students’psychological resilience.Conclusion:l.The level of secondary vocational students’ psychological resilience is at the medium level.. Personality, coping styles, social support, and self-esteem are the protective factors for the development of secondary vocational students’resilience.2.Secondary vocational students’explicit self-esteem and implicit self-esteem were independent from each other. They effect the different psychological and behavior respectively. Explicit self-esteem is more significant to the development of secondary vocational students’resilience.3.Qualitative analysis can clearly show the protective factors play a role in the face of the risk factors.The combination of quantitative research and qualitative research can explore the factors affecting students’ resilience.
