Hong Ren is the famous painter in Qing dynasty. His works not only break the imitating atmosphere of painting at that time, but also creative unique formal beauty contains a wonderful abstraction. It is different from the previous works on the diagram, performance of the language, and style.Previous researches on Hong Ren are mostly from a sociological perspective. The explanation of intense coldness of his picture mainly analysis his special life experience and his characters. Less research is from the viewpoints of formal beauty and the cause of formation in his works. So this undoubtedly caused people have inadequate understanding the most attractive abstractness and sense of composition these modern characteristics in a long time. This paper analysis the formal beauty of Hong Ren’s works in details through analysis method, and to explore the causes of its unique formal beauty combined with literature research method. This paper first introduced the evolution of Hong Ren’s style briefly. And points out that " dan gou wu cun"and geometry modeling are the main form of Hong Ren mature stage characteristics. In the second chapter, the western form analysis theory is used to analysis his representative work "The Yellow Sea Turquoise figure" in details, to sum up the characteristics in his works and deeply research its effect, function and formation of means. In the final part, the causes of formal beauty of Hong Ren are further analyzed, respectively:the Huangshan granite special structure influence his style, Ni Zan " simply" aesthetic influence the simplify in Hong Ren’s works, Yimin psychology, Zen, Buddhism and Dao spirit influence his paintings,"dan gou wu cun" technique of expression interacts Qing dynasty Huizhou prints. And the fourth point is detailed comparative analysis.
